Watershed Town Collaborations

We collaborate with the towns in the Lake Sunapee Watershed to address a wide range of environmental and water quality challenges. Each town is represented on our Board of Directors and on our Watershed Committee.  We work with Planning Boards, Zoning Boards, Conservation Commissions, Selectboards, Sewer and Water Commissioners, Health Officers, Highway Department staff, Planning and Zoning Administrators, Land Use Administrators, and others.

Our Collaborations with Lake Sunapee Watershed Towns include:

  • Implementing Watershed Management Projects that improve water quality and reduce erosion while also extending the life of town roads, culverts, and bridges.

  • Cost sharing for the Lake Host Program to prevent invasive species introductions.

  • Providing professional workshops for members of Zoning Boards, Planning Boards, and Conservation Commissions.

  • Offering free educational programming for local schools, including teacher education workshops.

  • Developing science-based local ordinances to protect water quality

  • Working with Highway Departments and Public Works Departments to reduce road salt use.
